Students are referred to the National Institute for the Deaf by a variety of sources, including NGOs, audiologists, parents, physicians and schools. Many families make their first contact directly with the institute.
How admission works
- Visit us. Parents are encouraged to schedule an appointment to visit classrooms, talk with staff and tour the campus.
- Apply. When parents decide to pursue a placement, the Principal facilitates the process and student records are requested.
- Evaluation. An admissions evaluation is scheduled. It typically consists of psycho-educational and audiological assessment and, in some cases, speech and language testing.
- Decision. The Admissions Committee reviews the results of the evaluation.
Education at NID is completely free, from Nursery to B.A. Please call the office during office hours or send us a WhatsApp message to book your visit, and download the admission form from this page.
